For many people the most difficult step in beginning therapy is setting up the
first session with someone you don't know but are hopeful can help you.

For 30 years, I have helped people discover the sources of their unhappiness 
which helps them go on to lead more expansive, joyful lives. People who come into 
therapy have made the best possible adaptation to their life circumstances at that 
time. Together, we work to uncover and change repetitive patterns and unconscious 
motivations that exist in the here-and-now in order to create a happier life.

If painful feelings are a part of your life, I can help you develop the resilience and strength to overcome them. I am especially skilled at helping people find their own voice and develop confidence in their perceptions, feelings, and opinions. Together, we will explore the psychological aspects of your situation and develop practical, concrete steps you can take to forge a more rewarding path.

In addition to my work with adults, I have extensive training and experience with children and their families, as well as expertise in helping parents with the challenges that come with the rewards of raising a child. I have experience in helping children whose parent is ill or has died. I also help parents working to understand and embrace their gay or lesbian child.

My practice has included working with people of various ages across the lifespan, from expectant parents, children, through elderly adults. My areas of expertise include, but are not limited to:
